We have never used the holiday settings before. And only until we had to lay off our receptionist, the phone system always directed inbound calls to the receptionist and the receptionist extension decided what to do with calls - based on *30,31,32,etc. (In office, lunch, closed, receptionsit vacation, etc)

Now- we are using office hours - Monday-Friday 0800-1700.

Coming up is a holiday. I have added Monday 5/25/2020 as a holiday. no prompt.

What I am expecting is the system will remain in Out of Office instead of opening from 0800-1700.

I have seen things about having to set the trunk to use the holiday - but it only affects the main number and not the DID's.

Please point me to clear instructions as the Admin "manual" (a bunch of links and such) is not clear to me.

I do not have a Prompt to Play on this holiday - I just want the system to follow the "CLOSED" rules - which right now is an IVR.

Holiday settings forward to the Hol IVR , so you will have to adjust this to your requirements

If you put a prompt against the holiday setting it plays this prompt - no prompt it plays the message within Hol ivr.

to activate holiday settings you have to tick ‘play holiday prompt when it’s a global holiday’ under sip and ddI

So if i want it to play my normal night/closed IvR - i have to recreate it in the holiday IVR and set the trunks to use it - but it won’t affect any DIDs?

Remove the greeting attached to the HOL digital receptionist and set the end destination to 1 second and timeout to your after hours digital receptionist. It will only follow this for dids where the holiday is checked and then only if you use the holiday schedule.
