I have a main office in one city and a remote office in a city about 200 miles away. I would like to be able to connect my voip phones in my remote office to the analog phone system in my main office. I understand that I can get a voip gateway at the main office, but would this allow my main office to just dial my remote office as an extension?? If not, how could I set this up so that my remote office is an extension of the main office and calls can be routed easily?

This may help

The following topic deals with linking 2 3CX servers. As yet to be fully tested. The concept proposed by nickybrg might be of help in your situation?

Take care,

Thanks. I'm reading that now. The issue is that in my main office, they don't want to change how their phone system is currently working. The remote office would be on the 3cx system. I need to have a system that can connect the PSTN system to the 3cx system and then have the users on the analog system dial an extension to get the remote office which is on the 3cx system.

Hi TheBigEye,

To keep existing main office's OLD PBX. Please find following setting for your reference:

Main Office OLD PBX(4 x EXT connected to 4 x FXO gateway)=>VPN=>Branch of 3CX PBX.

Main office EXT List:

EXT 100
EXT 101
EXT 102
..
..
EXT 190 connected FXO port 1
EXT 191 connected FXO port 2
EXT 192 connected FXO port 3
EXT 193 connected FXO port 4
(Please config your OLD PBX 190-193 as a hunt group)
..
..
EXT XXX

Branch office EXT List:
EXT 300
EXT 301
EXT 302
..
..
EXT XXX

-At 3CX PBX create DR (e.g. 800)
Welcome to XXX company, Please enter extension number?

-Create Outbound Rule 8 to access the FXO gateway which is connected to main office old PBX with "Transform mask" r.

The setup almost done.

At Branch office any extension call Main office EXT 10X
- Pick up the phone dial 810X

At main office any extensions call Branch office EXT 30X
- Pick up the phone dial 190, 191, 192 or 193
- Wait for DR 800 at Branch PBX "Welcome to XXX company, Please enter extension number?"
- Key in 30X (DR 800 will transfer the call to EXT 30X at Branch office)

That's good info, but my main office does not have a pbx... it's a standard Lucent phone system.
