Connecting Cisco router to 3cxv18 for E1

Good day all.
I have seen a lot of similar threads here however none match mine exactly.
I would like to connect a Cisco router that has an E1 card for PSTN. Please advise how this is achieved.
1. On 3cx do I add the Cisco router as a SIP Trunk or Generic Gateway?
2. What is the best way to configure this?

Doesn't sound like something that is "officially" supported. Doesn't mean that it won't work, just that you'd best hope that someone else, on the forum, has managed to get one working, with 3CX, and can offer some suggestions. You might want to include all information about the device.

I would think it would go in as a gateway as it isn't a SIP trunk..

Thank you for responding. I got the connection up and I can receive calls from PSTN via the Cisco router however when I attempt to make an outgoing call from 3CX using any extension the call rings at extension 1301 no matter which ever outgoing number I call and from any extension. There are no hits on the Cisco router for attempted outgoing calls from 3CX. When extension 1301 attempts to call out, the call goes to 1301 voicemail. What can cause outgoing calls to ring a certain extension (1301) and not go out? The calls are not leaving 3CX.

Use the 3CX Activity Log, set to Verbose, to see what is happening with the calls. The outbound trunk should have the IP and port of the Cisco, as the destination, but it may be something to do with your outbound rules, obviously something connected with that extension.
The Log will show how the call flows through the PBX.
