Connecting PSTN line to 3cx

that's what I thought with answer delay. I have increased PSTN Ring Timeout:which seems to have helped. I don't think I had touched this before but now seems to ring for at least 10 seconds.

linksys was reporting this: Last PSTN Disconnect Reason: Voip Call Ended.

I didn't see anything that stood out, that may be causing the call to end. It may be something related to the detection of the ring generator and ring cadence, if the setting do not match those required with UK ringing. I'm not certain as to what changes may be required for the 3102 to work with your particular provider, but someone else has probably had to deal with the same issue, if you do some searches. You said you found one site, was that specific to your provider, or for a BT line?

That would seem to indicate that 3CX dropped the call. The Activity Log should confirm show this.

The fact that changing the setting you did, made a difference, still leads me to believe it is something to do with ring cadence.

PSTN Ring Timeout is the delay after a ring burst before the 3102 decides that the ringing has ceased (the PSTN caller has hung up)

this is where I got the regional settings from: http://www.aoakley.com/articles/2008-01-08.php

while it is for a BT line I was thinking that talktalk (my provider) would be the same. I can look for others with the 3102 in the UK on here and see if there is a difference. At least it is working now to a point that I can start testing.

If you plug a regular phone into the Talktalk phone socket, does the phone ring with the standard UK double ring, or the North American single ring burst?

it's a double ring

Then the settings to recognise a standard UK (BT) ring should apply.

thanks. Will play with it a bit more and see if there are any issues that come up.

Check the Activity Log, and post it, for one of the calls, it it doesn't make sense.
