An, is it possible, may be coming or need to use VoipTools question.

We have a deployment where we could do with passing either the DID or the last name (we use this as a site identifier) of the called person to "CRM" to do contact lookup. In reality our "CRM" would be a middle man doing a further lookup against APIs of a number of services, based on the DID/site identifier, rather than a single source for all info together. Is this possible with current CRM, something that might arrive with new APIs or is it something I might need to see if @VoIPTools API can provide the link through for?

Thanks

Will

You can do this via CFD by attaching some call data after your lookup request.

You just need to configure it for each DID with each destinations.

Thanks, I'll dig into that

Just coming back to this, and trying to work out the most effective and least time consuming way of sorting this... I guess a bit of background would assist.

We have multiple "departments" on our system who each have a separate instance of a "CRM" (in quotes as they're not directly a CRM but rather an MIS). I'm looking to build some middleware that will be the link between 3CX and the multiple CRM, but to do this, I need to correctly identify the source department (based on DID) and then route the call back to the relevant department... which from the sounds of it the transfer to department works in v20 (but not v18 - so happy to wait for 20 if I need). But, what I'm looking at, is the way of working the department from the inbound number for transfer back without hardcoding into the CFD (ideally if you could choose what the variable sent in the CRM request to bypass needing a CFD was in place, that would be great... feature request please - ie being able to send the calling and DID numbers across... but I digress).

So, is there a variable I can pick up from the session (DID Name is something we could use for example), or do I need to think about maybe storing the DID, with the group name/Number in the same system as my middleware which can be picked up, possibly with the CRM lookup as another bit of JSON (I seem to remember reading somewhere about the CRMLookup dumping the JSON in CFD and that you can pull from it at will)? If I then have the CRM template with the relevant mappings for the last name, first name, etc, will that drop the CRM details onto the call for the end user, and I can take the variable out of the JSON for the correct transfer?

Or is this something I just need to play with to see if it does what I think it might...?

Thanks
Will
