If a contact has a % stored in the name, a call received from this contact will cause unusual behaviour of phones ringing but unable to pick up the call. Have proved this out via testing and can replicate the fault every time by adding % to a contacts name.

Using Yealink T42s handsets with 3CX version: Enterprise Perpetual 15.5.0

Hello @Rich.Hopkins

Thank you for reporting this. Let me try to replicate this and i will report back

I just added the % symbol to the name and it fails every time. Remove it and all works fine.upload_2018-6-26_15-56-2.png

We were able to replicate it on some Yealink phones but not all. We have contacted Yealink and we are waiting for a response. Again, thank you for reporting this

Hi Yiannis,

If you are on this way once, maybe you can check why the + sign in phonenumbers is not transfered to the yealinks (at least T46s) via CTI.

Well, maybe I can tell you a reason: 3CX is using the wrong API. "Push the button" (where + sign doesnt work) instead of "call this Numbers".

So maybe you can check if there is a way to use the right API in next releases.

Thank you

Stefan

Thank you for the suggestion. I would however recommend using the web client for your scenario or enabling the option replace + with 00 found in the 3CX client settings.

Webclient has the same issue. Because the API to Yealink-Phones is used between 3CX-Server and Deskphones, every client should have this problem.

Option replace + with 00 will not help in our scenario, as we need three zeros for international calls (none zero for internal, one zero for local calls, two zeros for national calls).

Thanks so far.

Yealink has confirmed the issue and they will apply a fix in the next firmware release. For now you should not use % in contact names.

I have seen that this problem happens to Snom phones as well when an extension has the 3cx client in cti mode.
