now in a new installation i am trying to configure again
the sip trunk and i get 403 forbidden errors in log. the two things i know i must do about 3way authentication
and "Leave default value" at From:user part in outbound parameters i've done them .
the telephony and the sip alg are off in router settings.
i also use sip trunk and voip provider account but nothing. did anyone has a how to or step by step working instructions
or you follow this simple things and you cross your fingers to work?!
did anyone found why ims.otenet.gr (195.167.16.7 replied : 403 forbidden; )
i also tryied to set the sip trunk manual (i used a xml and had it imported) worked in an another time i had the same issue but now nothing.

4xx response = client side error, the provider is not liking something that you are sending them.

Have you got the provider involved to confirm what it is they are not liking about the INVITE you are sending ? do you have a PCAP trace from the server on 3CX it may give you more information.

No because every time i am trying to contact with them they said that they cant help because its out of their equipment.
Thanks for your reply.

Sounds to me like your provider needs some customer service training.
From a decent provider I should expect them to be able to give the following:

  • Provide a mechanism to trace the call(s) on their platform or network.
  • Alternately to be able to provide you with a PCAP capture from their kit.
  • Offer some advise as to why the message is being rejected.

A flat out refusal is something you would expect in the dark ages of customer service, as you can see generally your response:

403 Forbidden – The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfil it.

Despite this being a client side request there should be a way to understand why it is refusing, for example Geo permission rejection, codec mis-match (not in this case as codec is a 488), wrong IP address configured.

Out of the providers I have used I have found Twilio probably the best for providing this sort of (above) information. https://www.twilio.com/
