Create Failover from SBC

I just had our first experience with the initial SBC Pi failing. How do we take advantage of a fail over SBC? I cant seem to find any information on this.

You could create a clone of the first, and leave it unpowered, next to the working unit, with a cut-over switch to power down one, and power up the other. There have not been a lot of posts about the Pis failing.
