CRM SMS Integrations: Anybody have any concepts to share?

Has anybody integrated their CRM with a 3CX SMS, yet?

I currently use a (expensive) third-party integration for my CRM (SuiteCRM) that works with the Twilio API. I'm trying to think about how feasible it would be have somebody make me an integration with 3CX.

3CX doesn't have an API. Well, not that kind.

One way is to have a bot use a dedicated extension for SMS.

Another is simply to use your own integration with your provider of choice instead of being stuck with Twilio.

What I really want is to be able to send SMS from my CRM (web browser on a desktop computer), but also send and receive SMS on the go (mobile phone).

My old CRM integration (Twilio) accomplished the former, while 3CX SMS functional accomplishes the latter. I haven't found a solution the accomplishes both, however.

There is none. You would have to build something or have it built for you.

3CX does not, and apparently will not, provide an API for sending SMS outside of their chat feature. As a result, you will have to use the API provided by your selected SIP carrier to build your own integration with your CRM.

While I can't speak for all cases, generally it is more cost effective to leverage an existing integration than to build one from scratch, but I suppose that depends on the provider. Keep in mind that whether you use Twillio or another SIP provider, there will likely be a cost for each text you send. If your current provider is marking up the cost of each text you send, then there might be some room for savings.
