I have a ring group that calls my cell number and I'd like to have a custom outbound caller id setup to prepend the Name with a specific word then have the OriginatorCallerID as well.

So If Mr Joe User calls from 555-555-1212

I can have my calllerID show the name of 555-555-1212 but I want to be able to have the word SALES in front of it for example.

So it would show SALES 555-555-1212.

Is that possible?

Hello @jdale

That actually depends mostly on your provider and its ability to support this functionality. The PBX can do this as you can set your extension to the Ring group with the option "Ring my mobile simultaneously" enabled and the PBX will send the same invite to your extension and your mobile phone.
The provider however must be able to accept an unknown number as caller ID and be able to read the name of the caller and pass it on.

So the first thing to do is confirm if the provider supports this and in what sip field the info must be presented. Then it is a matter of adjusting the outbound parameters of the trunk. Do not make any changes without confirming with the provider as this might break outbound calling completely.

Yes all of that is confirmed.

All I need to know is what custom string of have to use in order to achieve this.

I can do a custom word that's not a problem but I'd like to append the CID of the caller as well to the name.

As i mentioned you need to ask your provider what sip fields they are using to read the caller ID from and if a name is acceptable in the caller ID.
After you know that navigate to Contacts / Options and make sure that the option "Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID" is set to "Prepend Name". This will prepend the name of the Ring group to the caller ID.
When a call comes into the Ring Group the PBX will send the invite to your extension and your mobile number. If the provider supports it you should see the Ring Group name and the number.

That's what I was looking for. What an odd place to hide that option. LOL

Glad to see the issue has been resolved
