I see in the extension settings, I can choose my default ringtone and my queue ringtone. The default ringtone plays for internal calls. I call a queue and I get my default ringtone (despite setting something different). I don't have a way of controlling the ringtone for external callers.

I see in v18 I have the ability to set "Use custom ringtones per queue," but nowhere to actually set those.

I saw a couple of threads back in April 2021 of Yealink changing the firmware functionality, thus changing the way ringtones worked. I see people say that 3CX updated the template to fix it, but it doesn't seem very fixed to me. I am running template version 122147 on v18, while they say template version 109361 fixed it.

I wanted to make sure that I wasn't losing my mind that the external ringtone couldn't be changed in a supported way.

The external ringtone is indeed hardcoded in the template along with the rules for external/ivr.

For queues, you can either use the default options OR the "custom ringtone per queue", which is then configured in the Phone Provisioning page, if the checkbox is selected. Instead of a dropdown you get an option to select queue/ringtone associations.

So then what was fixed back in April? It still seems very broken.

I see a queue ringer configuration per extension, but nowhere do I see a per-queue configuration. Found it. You need to have more than one queue *AND* the option turned on for the per-queue configuration to show up.

Make sure to reprovision the phone after changing your queue ringtone.

Try a couple of different ringtones from the first 5 to see the difference. Different models may have a different number of tones available (ie. don't pick Ring 13 on a T19, it will not have so many ringtones).

That doesn't change the fact that external calls are forced to ring2 and you need to change the template to fix that problem.

That is indeed correct. As Frederic mentioned earlier, IVR and External are harcoded.

I was only referring to the fix which addresses the internal ringtone and the queues ringtone

When can we expect a fix for those?
