Hi all,

Just setting up 3CX for the first time and it's been mostly easy and smooth, but just hit a snag.

I created a Ring Group and assigned a DDI to it.

I then realised that a queue would be more appropriate so I deleted the ring group and created a queue instead, but now the DDI I need is missing from the list (as if it is already in use). I've rebooted 3CX and it won't come back. It is still listed under the SIP trunk.

Is there any way to get this DDI to come back? I can't use another number as it's a publically advertised DDI.

Thanks.

If the group was deleted/removed it should of been put back in the pool of numbers you have configured on the trunk.

The only thing that comes to mind if this is the case is to delete the DDI off of the trunk and re-assign.

I just tried that. I deleted the DDI from the trunk completely and then put it back, but it still won't allow me to assign it. I'm going to try a 'remove' > reboot > 're-add' and see if that works.

Sure or the next option I guess is to remove - re-add the trunk itself (hopefully you don't have too many DDI's or are adding them in, in bulk).

Hi @Mitchell1981

An Inbound rule was automatically created when you first assigned the DID.

Delete that inbound rule and the DID will no longer be reserved, you can assign it to a Queue now.

Thank you. It didn't appear on the inbound rule list (I guess becuase I'd deleted it from the trunk), but removing, rebooting, and re-adding worked!

Thanks for your help.

Correct, when you removed it from the trunk the inbound rule was also deleted.

When you added back the DID it was not yet bound to any rule so it would be free to assign elsewhere
