Hi,

Does 3cx have any Default MOH files that can be used instead of royalty files?
If so, where can I find it?

Thank you.

No there is not, just the default on hold music is supplied

What do you mean by default on hold music is supplied?
You mean, we provide a default on hold music?
Is that the case?
Thank you

No there is a standard music played that is built into the system, you can change this by uploading your own music if you wish.

If you go to settings-music on hold, you can play the current MOH, then you can upload your own

I have uploaded a few files, if I remove all these files, will the standard music still play?

In the sense, will the standard music be over-written if we upload our files?

We have been using music files that have royalty and have been paying for these too.
Now, the management wants to remove these files, and upload new files.
But they have inquired if there is any standard file that comes with 3cx.
So I would like to know what happens if I remove the current MOH files, will there still be the standard music file or just silence?

Thank you.

Silence if your files are always linked to something using those files.
you can buy for very low cost audio files here, they are free of extra charges

Hi @TechieGuy

There is a single MOH that comes with the system called onhold.wav, but you can find royalty free ones online that you can legally use.

If you upload new ones, you will need to assign them from Settings > Music on Hold

Also if you have any custom queues or playlists you must select the new MOH for those too.

Where do I find this file? Would it have been over-written since we uploaded new files?

This is how the current setting looks like.

Thank you

No it does not get replaced, just click the dropdown list and look for it there

Where files are, do you mean in which folder on pbx ?
You want to delete them from pbx folder?

If so depends on PBX if it's windows or debian, and local or cloud
It could be more simple with a delete button everywhere needed in console but for now this request is not in 3CX papers, so sorry. :(

Thank you. That's all I wanted to know. The file is there in the drop down list.

In case you delete the custom files off the physical machine, take care to update all your MOH and queues and such to point to a new file. Then restart your services so that the system re-scans the MOH folder and forgets the old files from the drop down lists.
