Default Provisioning Options

Hi,

We're running v18 Update 5 (build 418) and provisioning Fanvil X3S phones. We use a separate VLAN for the phones. Fresh out of the box Fanvil phone connects to Phone VLAN using LLDP gets DHCP IP address, finds the 3CX server and registers itself. We then see it under 'Phones' and then 'Assign Ext' , the phone provisions and reboots.

At this point the default Provisioning settings disables LLDP and has nothing under VLAN Configuration -> Enable VLAN for WAN Port.

Phone boots back up, doesn't use LLDP and has been told not to use VLAN so appears on LAN and not the tagged Phone VLAN.

We can of course change either of those two fields during provisioning and it works fine, as long as the admin remembers too. Is there a way to change either of those fields to a default value for all provisioning going forward?

Hi Jon,

Unfortunately no, those can not be "defaulted". They have to be set manually while configuring the phone the first time.

A suggestion if I may:

If your network equipment allows it, you could alternatively use an "untagged VLAN" where the LAN port itself binds to a specific network (ie. your phone VLAN) while the IP Phone remains unaware of the VLAN, and instead the switch takes care of the tagging for you.
