When I delete an extension, I should be able to expect all references to that extension to be automatically deleted. Right now, I have to go in and manually delete the data folder that contains the voicemail greeting, the shared folder that contains recorded calls, and the inbound rules for that extension. This is way too manual.

Which version are you using?

This behaviour could be intended, for a reason, or it could be a oversight, depending on your view.

Some users may have deleted an extension, on purpose, or by mistake, then attempted to create it again, only to find, to their dismay that all voice-mails had disappeared.

We are still on version 11. Voicemail messages have always deleted. But the greeting and inbound rules stayed as well as the recording share folder.

I'm wondering (haven't tested), if in version 12, that has been changed.

If it has been changed, then that would tend to indicate that the behaviour you are experiencing, was "overlooked" in the previous versions.

...and perhaps, one additional reason to upgrade.
