3CX Version Number 18.0 (Build 31)
Debian 10

I am trying to follow the v20 upgrade guide here https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v20-upgrade-checklist-faq/ and the 3rd step is "Move Queues/IVR/RG to departments".

However, I do not have a departments section in the left hand side of my admin console. I have checked at /#/app/default and /webclient/#/office

This applies to both of my systems.

How should I proceed?

Many thanks,
Justin

Hello @Moose999,

In V18 it is called "Groups" and you can assign a Queues/IVR/RG if you recreate them. If you do not assign them and you upgrade to the V20, they will be auto-assigned to the "Default" department and you can change them by choosing a different department in the configuration general page of the Queues/IVR/RG

Hi Dimitris,

Thanks for the reply!

Is that the 'groups' accessible at /webclient/#/office/groups and /#/app/groups ?

I am unable to add Queues/IVR/RG to these groups, as the Queues/IVR/RGs do not show up on the "Select group members to add" popup, and if I manually type in the number for the Queues/IVR/RG the OK button remains greyed out.

All the best,
Justin

The groups are accessible in the WebClient.
But as mentioned, you can assign a group when you are creating a Queues/IVR/RG. If it is already created you cannot change the group in the V18 version. In V20 you have the option to change a department though.

The blog post was posted in January and it is meant to prepare the system for a smooth transition from V18 to V20 with the most important ones to assign a System Owner role to an extension, the extensions should have a unique email address and the System & Network requirements.
The final release of V20 was in February of 2024.
You can of course preconfigure and assign the Queues/IVR/RG to a group by recreating them, but you can also upgrade and change the department that they are part of in V20.
