Desktop App Keeps crashing

Hi

Desktop app keep crashing upon startup if anyone can possibly assist with a solution.

Firstly, we would recommend using the PWA as this is the preferred app for the moment, and since the 3cx App for Windows is no longer receiving development, there will be no further updates for this client.

What I can see, though, is that as the error occurs after the entry that states: Plantronics API is not connected, then an error is seen for the crash.

Therefore disconnect any headphones and uninstall any apps for Plantronics then open the app again to check.

I thought it was announced in April/May that the Phone for Windows would be receiving a revamp and be usable for years to come? It looks like the wording on that specific blog post may have been edited posthumously to walk that back a little bit. This is especially important information now that access to the Desktop App MSI has been taken away.

The 3cx app for Windows (legacy app) will not receive a revamp, but we plan to develop an entirely new Windows app, completely rewritten.

However, access to the desktop (electron) app has not been removed. This is available under the Apps section (bottom right) within webclients.

Thanks for the insight on the app. Is that something that will be potentially part of V19 or do we have no timelines on that yet?

You are welcome. We do not as yet have an ETA on when it will be but likely to be with Version 20 which will be the next version that is released.
