I saw somebody else asking about being able to provision multiple accounts with the desktop app on this threat:

https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/3cx-v18-desktop-app-account-switching-cant-find-it.84281/

The 3cx rep (NickD_3CX) said that it would not likely be built as it's not a popular request.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Popular apps like Bria from Counterpath support this, and almost every business class desktop phone you can buy supports this. In order for this app to be taken seriously as a business solution it needs to support multiple accounts. Don't get me wrong, it has a LOT of really cool features--integration with social media, BLF, phone books, etc. But multi-account support is a big feature that it really needs.

As an aside, it would be really great if the ONLY way to end a call would be to click the red button or press some sort of multi-key sequence. Pressing ENTER should not end a call since there is not an obvious way to ensure that the window has lost focus. I've accidentally ended many calls already in the week I've been using it.

Hi!

The fact that other software has something doesn't say a lot in itself, what does is how many actually utilize it! If 99% of our users have the ability to have multiple accounts, but only have 1, then it is not needed.

I live in the same world as you, I realize that for admins, especially of multiple systems, this is useful, bit for the actual end-user that will be using the system day-to-day, I stand by what I said.

Before accusing me of ignoring admins, admin can use the WebClient to log into multiple systems, and even do so at the same time in parallel!

As an aside, it would be really great if the ONLY way to end a call would be to click the red button or press some sort of multi-key sequence. Pressing ENTER should not end a call since there is not an obvious way to ensure that the window has lost focus. I've accidentally ended many calls already in the week I've been using it.
This is one of those things where you cannot make everyone happy. Some will say "my previous software allowed me to do things with keyboard presses", others "but my users or low tech and want to click to do the actions", and other "I want only one way and not multiple".

Whatever we do, it will be wrong for someone, but the current implementation seems to satisfy the majority.

Adding options for everything would be one way to remedy all this, but then this:
- Makes the software more complicated
- Increases things that can go wrong and QA times and Dev time

Generally we prefer to keep the software as simple-looking ("looking" only, because on the back-end things are actually quite complex...) as possible.

Nick, I appreciate your response. While you didn't give the solution I wanted, I do feel heard. Thank you. I'm about the post another thought as well, so I hope that you have time to respond.
