Dial by name behavior when single matching extension

Hello

Is it normal that the dial by name does not play the self identification voice file when there is only one possible extension to match the last name with ?

Ideally the caller would hear "Transferring your call to ... " and then the self_id_prompt.wav file would be played. Now we just hear hold music while the extension rings.

Just want to make sure what I observed is working as intended.
If it is, I would like to suggest an enhancement to the dial-by-name to do what I described above.

Please note that the behaviour you are observing is normal as the prompt will only play when the dialled digits match more that one extension. This way the caller can select the correct destination. If there is only one match then the call will be transferred to the extension directly.
I would recommend posting this as a feature request to our ideas section of the forum https://www.3cx.com/community/forums/3cx-ideas/ . All posts are reviewed by their corresponding Departments and, if feasible and voted for by other users as well, may be implemented in an upcoming service pack or update.
