Dial options during Hold

Is it possible in V18 to allow a customer on hold to dial an option, lets say "2", to go to an extension? My customer wants to have a message interrupt during the hold music so customers can skip the hold and go to an answering service for making appointments, Any assist is greatly appreciated.
