I have been successful with the integration of our 3CX implementation and Teams for one trial user at this point. During the configuration process, you have to select a particular dial plan. We have selected "United States". Does this dial plan allow you to make calls to other countries? I have not tested it yet.

Secondly, we have an installation of 3CX in the UK that makes calls to multiple countries and area codes. Do I just select "United Kingdom" from the list of dial plans and we are good to go? There is no way I can anticipate the country and area codes they may be dialing over time and enter them in the "area code" field of the Teams integration screen.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi!

Yes, the Country you choose is the Country your users are in.

What the country selection does is that it creates a dial plan that allows Teams users to be able to in their "National Number Format" and in the background this is automatically converted to e164 Format. Of course for this to happen, the system needs to know the country to anticipate the various number formats.

Technically speaking if everyone always dials all numbers in Teams in the e164 format, the dial plan is not used because it will immediately be forwarded to 3CX in this format.

Thanks for the explanation.

Can I load more than 1 dial plan within the Teams integration process? I have noticed the script creates a plan called "3CX Dial Plan." If I add one for the UK staff which is in the same AD structure, will it overwrite the "3CX Dial Plan" with a UK one causing issues for the US-based employees at that point?

Can it be done? Of course, but you will have to do the testing that the dial plan works.
Note that if you want to do this, I would recommend altering the Dial Plan from the Teams Admin page.

I would suggest first deploying with what the script offers and then see if you need adjustments, you might find that nothing needs to be done.
