Dialing extension directly from another extension

Sorry for a noobie question, but if not using the naitive 3cx app and using another softphone like Bria, How do you dial another extension directly?
*4 gets me to another extension's voicemail, but I can't ring another extension.,...

has the Bria client been configured with a 3cx extension ? can you make calls from this client\ , does the echo test work , dial *777

if it works, you dial the extension number

save yourself hassle, use 3cx applications and not third parties

Bria has been installed and configured. Yes, I can call outbound on a sip channel. I can dial extensions to each other from the naitive app. On Bria, I just get silence.... weird.. TY for confirming...

Is there any sort of (local) dialplan involved, that does not recognise the length of an extension number, and is therefore not sending it? Have you checked to see if the calls are reaching 3CX, by using the 3CX Activity Log?
