Can 3CX be setup in such a way that it recognises when the External DID of an extension is being dialled internally and route the call direct to that extension rather than out the trunk to our voip provider and then back in from the voip provider and to the extension.

This obviously uses up 2 of our sip trunk channels, our bundled minutes and 2 of our 3cx call licences when it should be a single licences and no external trunk use...

I would be happy to setup outbound rules to strip the digits etc of our number ranges but there seems to be no way to then keep the call internal after ive stripped the digits ???

Under Settings - Network Settings enable

Then under options for the phone, enter the ddi number in SIP ID

Thanks for that - i did see that option but unfortunately only works for a single exactly dialled number.
the external call could be dialled in 3 ways 01637882XXX or +441637882XXX or 00441637882XXX
its quite common for people to have numbers saved in either of those first 2 formats in their contacts...

I need to be able to specify wildcards like you can in the DIDs ie *882XXX

You can create a loop trunk...

1. create SIP trunk with 127.0.0.1:5060
2. create outbound rule(s) for this trunk. They should intercept all desired DID numbers
3. attach existing inbound DIDs rules to this trunk

The disadvantage, is that each call will use up two licenses.
