Hi All

Can you please advise on the exact config a VOIP Gateway woudl need.

So, if i have 6 analog lines from the telecoms box, what FXO / FXS configuration woudl i need to purchase?

For simplicity lets say i will not need more lines from telecoms.

Hi,

You need an FXO VoIP Gateway.

An FXO device is a device that acts like a simple telephone, as opposed to an FXS device which acts like a telephone exchange (and supplies power).

If you are planning to connect 6 analogue lines then you need to find a VoIP gateway that has 6 analog (FXO) ports or more. On the other hand the VoIP Gateway will also be connected to the network, and the lines reigstered with the SIP PBX.

Furthermore our manual also describes the configuration of some common VoIP gateways under the 'Adding PSTN line(s) via a VOIP Gateway' chapter.
