I was looking to see whether the webclient softphone could be disallowed for an extension outside the LAN, in the same way that regular phones can be blocked under extension options by ticking disallow outside LAN and block remote tunnel connections.

The reason, incase anyone has other suggestions -

In meeting rooms used by staff and sometimes invited visitors, I wanted to setup the facility for them to use 3CX video conference and/or voice telephone conference. The equipment we have is USB conference camera and speaker/microphones that works brilliantly through the PC in the room using webclient on Chrome. My thinking was to have a laminated card with basic instructions including the website URL and 3CX webclient login for the extension assigned to the meeting room to make it easy to use.

But.... just incase someone snapped a photo of the details and then tried to use outside of our office, for this to be viable I needed to check that the "disallow use of extension outside of LAN" applied to the webclient extension, and unfortunately it doesn't, I can log into the webclient and make calls from outside the LAN.

Any other ideas other than for a trusted staff member to log into the webclient on behalf of the person using the room?

(blocking webclient for all extensions outside the LAN isn't a route I want to go down, as I do want some trusted staff to be able to use their webclient logins from outside the office).

Hi cjt,

This is not possible to do at the moment, you can either totally enable it or totally disable it for a given user. The other disallow-option for extensions is only for SIP registrations, but the Web Client uses WebRTC which is something different.

In your case, its better for the user to log in to the webclient with their own credentials like they would have if they were connecting externally. This way you don't need a dedicated Room-extension, and the users also have the chance to become more familiar with logging in/out of the webclient which is our future client of choice.
