hello all again

Can you please help with this situation: When an extention calls a cell or other phone number that is either disconnected or does not exist, the call keeps ringing and ringing it that extention and the callers is not informed that the calls are not being delivered. This is a problem with 3CX configuration or a problem with the VoIP Provider??

Cheers
Paul

It depends, but more likely it is not a 3CX problem.

1st thing to do is to try and dial a known problem number using an analog phone or cell phone. If it continues to just ring, then you can assume that the provider is also getting the same and the source is from the final delivering or owning carrier. May not be anything you can do.

If the call gets a message or something else that indicates the number is not working or has an issue, then you may want to repeat the steps using 3CX while performing a capture and see what the provider returns to 3CX. If you do not get a SIP 4XX response code, then it could be that the delivering carrier is delivering a message (maybe not) to your provider that they do not correlate into an error and pass on. It could be the provider or possibly upstream from them, but the bottom line is that if you only see rings or session progress and no error codes, then you have to start the process by going to the 1st link in the chain - your provider.

Well said lneblett..really I agree with you..
