Hello everybody,

we are currently testing 3CX for multiple retail stores. We use a large amount of DECT phones, which are partly used by agents assigned to different queues. Some of there don't have their own PC and thus no access to the web interface.

We learnt that there are function codes to set the users status and signon/signoff to queues (*30-*34, *62, *63).

But we do miss a possibility to use these function codes in a user-friendly way. For testing, we bought a Snom M900 base with M70 phones. We could assign these function codes to fast dial function on the number buttons, but is this possible by provisioning? Since we only have IT support in the central office, we cannot program all these codes in the stores after the handset is connected to the DECT base.

Alternativly, I learnt about the XML minibrowser for Snom DECT, has anyone worked with this feature?

Secondly, we are looking for an option to show the presence status (available, away, dnd, ...) on the handset. With a Yealink phone (non-DECT), we tried to solve this with custom background images, but with Snom DECT I don't find any point changing that (a color would suffice). Perhaps there is any status icon that can be used?

We are not bound to Snom, if there is any other vendor that provides this feature with 3CX, we can switch.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Regards,

You may be somewhat limited, in the features (amount, and type of data sent from the base) available when using a DECT handset compared to an IP connected handset.

You can add the *62 etc to the F-Keys from the menu, and then access the F-Keys list each time you'd like to perform a function such as logging in and out, without having to remember the codes.

As for the status presence, I don't believe these devices can show that in the way that you're wanting them to.
