Where have you set the office hours ? - Trunk / SIP etc

Are you using 'Auto Switch' under Forwarding rules for the extension ? I believe this is the only place where the phones would go into DND

Hi Mark, is auto-switch actually failing over or not? Look at your logging if you want to confirm.

Also ensure your system isn't forced into out of office hours as this can really screw things up as you need to put the * code in again to fix.

Just disable the auto switch option under the extension settings. This will keep the extensions from switching to DND.

so that means, Auto Switch is not working correctly and DND Status will not be pushed back to available when Office Hours starts again (on Monday for eg)

I don't think so , just for extensions needing to stay available H24/7

was answering first asking from Mark Jones, if all the phones are with autoswitch checked is normal they all follow global hours and switch to DND out of office hours.
so my previous answer was, if you uncheck autoswitch just for extensions you want to keep available it's working no more no less

the OP's request (as far as i understood) was to keep the extensions to Available after office hours. The answer to that is to disable Auto Switching under the extensions settings.

so MY QUESTION is different - i want them to come back from DND when the office hours start again.... but they do not... some do.... most of them dont - maybe those who come are those who had interaction with users...

but fact is, they do not come back from DND automatically - when do you plan to fix this ?
