Greetings all,

Before I invest another few hours into this 3CX integration I ask to ask the obvious…..does it really work?

I have run into complication after complication and don’t think I am any closer to success.

I think I have determined that the integration does not work with the CW application (I wish that was published somewhere). It seems like I get closer to integration when I use the CW webpage…but…only slightly closer.

I am using the Cloud version of CW, I am using the 3CX web client, the 3cx Tapi Multi line and I have installed the 3CX Windows application in my Windows 10 system.

By the way, Windows Dialer works (most times)

So, as for the integration, here is what happens for me.

When I receive a call from an outside number the 3CX Windows App opens to advise of an incoming call but I have no ability to open CW or to see a pop-up. At the same time, the 3CX web client is also popping open…this is good because from the 3CX web client, there is a “contact card icon” and from that icon, I can click and it opens the contact record in CW. BUT, once the contact card is open in CW in a new tab, the web client is not able show me future calls unless I remember to make it the focused tab.

So, that is receiving, when I try to dial from the CW webpage…I can’t. I keep getting this warning that is is trying to open Skype…..I don’t want Skype….I just want to place a call.

AND, to make things worse. When I go to CW and click on the Phone Integration in the top right corner, It says:

“TAPI is not available in the browser. Skype will be used to dial outgoing calls”.

So, if you have had success and\or know what the limitations are, I could really use a hand.

Cheers,
Chris

The integration works, and the popup is launched by the Web Client, not the Windows client. So, you need to be running the 3CX Web Client in a browser tab. Please check if your browser is blocking popups from the Web Client, because that's the case by default if you don't explicitely enable popups...

This is probably because Skype has registered itself as the default application for the TEL URI. You should be able to change this by reinstalling 3CXPhone for Windows, which will register the TEL URI to itself. Also, please check the click to call browser extensions we provide:
https://www.3cx.com/phone-system/click-to-call/

Using these extensions you can convert any phone from any web page, to a click to call link, and use the 3CX Web Client to make the call without any interference from Skype, because to launch calls through the Web Client we don't use the TEL URI.

I'm currently facing problems with 3CX and Connectwise integration. It looks like the contact tries to open a 404 URL with connectwise. They probably updated something on their end and needs to be updated with the developers in 3CX. I did check the CRM plugin for updates it says it's updated. Can anyone confirm?

ConnectWise changes the Contact URLs from time to time, because the URL contains a version in the path. Usually old URLs still work, but eventually they stop working. In that case, the only solution is deleting the CRM contacts from 3CX Contacts, so they can be synchronized again.

Thanks edossantos,

I think one of the issues I am having is that I am trying to click on the "little telephone icon". When I do that, it is still asking for Skype. I have tried changing it in the Defaults TEL URL is already pointing to 3CX. I suspect that "little telephone icon" is not actually looking for the TEL URL, it must be anothrt URL that is configured for Skype.

Skype provides browser extensions to add a phone button and click to call through Skype. Maybe that's what you're clicking. You should disable any browser extension from Skype and check if the icon is still there.
