Domain name help for on-premise

I am wanting to use 3cx on-premise but I only would like a .local address without owning a domain name. Is there any way I can do this? I only would like calling throughout the on-premise site.

You will have two issues: (1) you will need a certificate that matches what you choose as a FQDN, and (2) you will need to update your internal DNS to resolve your chosen FQDN.

Just use a 3CX domain. Its free, comes with a free SSL certificate as well, and you would only need to create a split DNS entry.
