Door intercom and hot desks

Hi All,

I have an office where all 8 desk phones are set up for hot desking. Is there a way of causing a door intercom to call the phones even when all 8 desk phones are logged out?

I suspect not, but I thought I'd ask.

I guess I need a second extension registered on the phone, which is not part of the standard template for Yealink T42s.

This is not possible, as the phones are not registered if logged out.

You can not configure a second extension registered on the phone, when using hotdesking as you can not use custom templates.

Okay so I guess the answer is to put a cheap phone on the wall with a dedicated (non-hot desk) extension, and then add this extn and all users who may occupy the hot desks to a ring group. The door intercom then dials the ring group?
