Hi,
how i can download cdr.log file generated by CDR - Single file for all calls - on a hosted 3cx ?

Thanks

Hi, you may check it from activity log --- logs ---- instance --- CDRLogs

Hi, thanks for your ansewer.
I'm unable to find activity log --- logs ---- instance --- CDRLogs in web interface.
On hosted Pbx i have only this access.

OK, you have to access the pbx management console ---- dashboard --- from there click on Activity log

then click on logs --- ---- instance --- CDRLogs

Sorry i didn't understand. I found logfiles.
Do you know if it is possibile to automate the download of all files in this subdirectory maybe using some Api ?
I have seen i could use passive socket but the ip address and port in CDR config is unreachable.

Thanks

if you enable the cdr as single file for all calls then you can get the file from the route I have shared activity log --- logs ---- instance --- CDRLogs

You can configure the CDR as active socket, in this way the pbx will send the cdr to an external server, so 3CX CDR Service will act as a client and you need to provide the IP Address and TCP Port of the CDR Server that is handling your CDR Requirements.

Please have a look on this document

May I offer another perspective?

Getting CDR information via a IP socket is just asking for data loss. If your socket connection goes down for ANY reason -- internet burp, restart of your custom socket service or server, etc... you will lose data and there is no way to get the data back later. It's gone.

I always strongly encourage people to use the file-based approach offered by 3CX. You can configure 3CX to create physical CDR files (call summaries) that are automatically created without the dependency of a socket service. That means you can always "catch-up" if your automated process goes down for any reason.

Normally, I would suggest using FileZilla (or something similar) to gain access to the files on a hosted 3CX. However, I think @Alejandro_3CX is suggesting you can also manually download the files from within the 3CX Console. Is that right? If so, then while it is a manual process, it is a reliable process. In that case, I would follow his suggestion of saving all calls to a single file.

Let me take this opportunity to explain why I think 3CX places some restrictions on what you are permitted to do on their hosted platform. Their restrictions are not simply to make your life more challenging, rather, 3CX is committed to providing a secure, reliable, supported service that is scalable (greatest number of hosted servers per support engineer). This allows 3CX to provide a rock-solid dependable solution at an extraordinarily competitive price.

However, there are occasions where a customer-need necessitates hosting elsewhere with a company that offers more access to the 3CX server -- for example, so you can run Call Flow Designer applications and 3rd-party tools. But even the Call Flow Designer restriction on the 3CX hosted platform apparently will be going away soon (perhaps with the release of 3CX version 20). Still, I will mention that we have a tool that fully automates the retrieval, parsing, and placing of CDR data into a database (3CX Exporter). if you need a fully automated solution, we can help.

What I hope you take away from this conversation is that 3CX offers a number of approaches you can leverage to get the data you need. We are simply highlighting some of the challenges and solutions for you.
