Downloadable Version of new Windows Store App

Hello everyone,

will there also be a "downloadable" version of the new store app (e.g. MSI or EXE)? On the Remote Desktop Servers (Windows Server 2019 and 2022) of our customers there is no Microsoft App Store available and therefore the users unfortunately cannot use the new 3CX Windows Store app.

I'm seconding this. We have the Windows Store disabled on a number of computers, and need to be able to make/receive calls on them.

Yes, please we have the same issue. Lots of windows 2016/2019 RDS servers using this.
They cant use the webclient because they use the callto protocal etc.

I post a comment to follow this thread. Since we are in the same situation, we will use the old version hoping some answers. We packaged the app for the deployement on our user's computers and would like to keep it that way. Thank you for your consideration.

The future is here and we have blocked the MS Store.
We only allow some downloads via the Store for Business.
Much prefer to use the current msi installer so that can be customised as to location and features, then this can be installed by local Group Policy onto machines that require it. msiexec.exe /i "\\xzyxzy\3CX PBX Software\3CXDesktopApp-18.13.959.msi" ALLUSER=1 ALLUSERS=1 /qn /norestart.
Installing into the user profile creates large profiles and makes user logons too slow so the 'correct' place for us is into Program Files where it belongs.

We have the same request. Please reconsider this for those of us using Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 as our desktop OS.

We also absolutely need an MSI/EXE installation because we have also deactivated the Windows Store on around 400 clients.
The PWA is not a solution for us because we absolutely need the hotkey function and the integration of third-party programs.

Just adding another voice to the request for a downloadable path to the v20 Windows client. We, along with many other business environments, don't allow Microsoft Store access on our desktop clients. As others have noted, it also is a problem for VDI hosts which run Microsoft Server OS which don't support Microsoft Store either.

I know the "app store" model has its upside, but please do consider the needs of your business customers as well.

"go to MS Store and copy the link of the app you want to install https://apps.microsoft.com/store/apps
Copy the link of the app and paste in this website, search in RP mode https://store.rg-adguard.net
In the result, find the .appx file of the app you need and right click and save as, your browser might detect it as a harmful app, you can ignore and keep the file
Make sure you also download all the dependencies and save them as well
Once you download all the dependencies and the application, start by installing dependencies first, and then the main app
To install, go to the downloads location, right click on each and click Install
Optional: you can also install via powershell Add-AppxPackage -Path "<PATH>".appx"

There are ways to do this, and I've succeeded with some Store apps. However when I tried it with the 3CX Store app a few weeks ago, the service you use to 'search in RP mode' in step 2 does not find anything.

+1 for this. What are the developers smoking??? How is a simply msi install not available? We need TAPI integration and have no way of doing so as we can't use Microsoft Store and doesn't seem to work with UWP

I have to agree with Kano90 on this one. For the first time since finding 3CX as a solution I'm seriously thinking about looking at alternatives. V20 seems like it was thrown together in a hurry, not tested, and released WAY before it was ready. So many features are missing that its a waste of time upgrading any existing installs as there WILL be missing functionality.

Until the new Windows App supports all of the functionality of the Desktop/ Electron App (CTI & TAPI for use with Deskphones, Hot Keys, etc) we will not be able to upgrade all our systems to V20
