Duplicate extensions, lightsail hosted, remote extensions using stun

I recently had a very vexing problem with my V16 on lightsail getting duplicate phone entries for customers yealink T48 handsets. Same mac and extension number. Turns out the cable modem was failing, and as it was declining it started creating duplicate phones, and on my yealink wireless dect handset extension it was adding other users extensions as assigned to the dect phone. Phones are connected by stun, sbc would have probably been a different symptom. I would suggest anyone experiencing this same thing first make sure router/modem are 100%. In this case a call to comcast support rep, who knew what they were doing, discovered that a docsis diagnostic test showed docsis health at 16% and immediately scheduled a replacement for the failing modem.
