We support multiple local hotels with 3cx. The local 911 dispatch is now requiring that they send the room number on any 911 calls. We want to use 3cx's e911 geolocation feature to send that extra info. The docs say it is available on the Generic SIP Trunk templates, which it is. But the problem we are running into is that no matter what we put into the Options> e911 Geolocation > Geolocation URI / ID field, 3cx always prepends "https://emergency.bandwidth.com/locations/5006155/" to the data.

My SIP provider is just expecting the location guid, not a full URL. But I have tried putting full URLs in as well, and they still get the emergency.bandwidth.com portion prepended to them.
I even tried building a Voxtelesys trunk following their guide, and the Voxtelesys URL gets the bandwidth.com URL prepended.

Has anyone gotten e911 geolocation to work with anything other than bandwidth.com? If so, how are you getting it to not prepend the bandwith URL?

Hello,

What version is the PBX you are testing this with? Are you getting the same behaviour on multiple systems, or just the one you are testing with right now?

Best,
KS.

I have tried it on two systems so far. One is 3CX hosted and the other is self-hosted. Both are set to auto update and are on version 20.0.6.724.
I suppose I can find a client where we have not turned on auto update and see if the issue was present in older versions.

I assume that the bandwidth.com url should NOT be hardcoded, and this is an unexpected bug, and not "working as expected"? Are there any trunk template parameters that can be added to the xml to override the geolocation tag in the SIP invite?

The URL is not hardcoded anywhere in the system and is not mentioned anywhere in the trunk template. In fact the template has no information about this what so ever.
I also tried this in a couple of systems and I do not have a Bandwidth URL hardcoded. Did you perhaps use a backup or image to set up these systems?

Can you please go to your trunk settings / Options / E911 Geolocation and send us a screenshot of configured locations there? Blur out any vital information. Also how many trunks do you have per system? Could the location be in a different trunk?
