easiest way to convert freepbxroute to 3cx route?

Hi there....ok that helps but I've already in process of got 3cx working and I am trying to get routes working like I had it in freepbx. I don't want to overwrite what the old pbx was since I've already started a new, but I'd like to import certain trunks and routes.

also, why is it so difficult to print 3cx documentation? It would be nice to have documentation in PDF form

I think you can import all config across but not parts.

Would import via CSV be of any use?

I followed the procedure on the URL you provided. I uploaded the file and just recently got it back.

there are two XML files. the big one doesnt seem to have any routing info but I do see some trunk info in it.

what I'm trying to do is send any directory assistance or toll free info numbers out to a different trunk, with fallback on voip.ms and vitelity.see first post above

ok I am ready to tackle this but I dont want to use the convertor. How can I manually create the routes I need? Also, in the same regards, I have an outbound only trunk that does not require any authentication yet it seems I MUST enter a DID for the trunks? How can I get around that requirement?

Manually creating toll-free numbers, at least in north America, will require an entry for each 800 "area code", so 800, 899, 888, 887...etc. As far as directory assistance, if you mean NNN5551212, then I don't think that will be easy as you would have to use wildcards (which you can't) for the areacodes, or, create an entry for each areacode and place those rules above the "normal" route to intercept them.

Hi @leejor i want to do with what I populated in this thread at the very beginning. It is very simple in freepbx.

The first route (DirAsst) sends calls to 18003733411 from those with the formats and wildcards to the right.

The second route (TollFree) send all toll free calls, excepting DirAsst to the trunks in this order:
TollFreeProxy
VoIPms
vitel-outbound

Thats what I'd like to do. How can I do it in 3cx? Why aren't wildcards supported in 3cx? that seems like a huge omission?

Yes I agree as there are many special numbers (such as other area code Directory Assistance in North America) that have the "set" numbers in the middle, or the end, where wildcards would be useful. I would check the Ideas forum to see if the suggestion has been put forward previously. If not, make a feature suggestion yourself.

In many cases, the Ideas are up-voted (or not), and that will have a bearing on whether that idea is worth considering in a future release. Ideas don't necessarily get a response.

In the forum index, for the Ideas Forum, it states "Please use this forum to submit feature requests. By submitting a feature request it does not mean that your request will be implemented or replied to.".

Up until a few years ago, it was rare to have a response from someone at 3CX in any of the forums. Thankfully, that has changed dramatically. I would suspect that the people doing the coding are not the same people that answer questions on the forum and so are not able to provide a lot of information as to when, or why, a specific feature will be released, and the reason.

On the routes, I will give that a try.
so using the freepbx-->3cx convertor won't get me anything since it can't handle wildcards and that would explain why there was nothing in the xml files.
