Edit who is able to answer calls

Hi,

Currently in our ofice if a phone rings anybody else in the office can answer it by pressing *20*. Is is possible to cahnge this so that by pressing *20* people can only answer calls going to those in the same ring group or call queue?

In Settings-->advanced-->custom parameters there is a parameter called LIMIT_PICKUP_TO_GROUP which I believe is the option you're looking for. Default is 0, setting this to 1 means that extensions can only pick up calls from their ring group.

Or if you dont want do that in custom parameters, you can go: Settings->General-Global options and check "Limit call pickup to call received in their extension group"

I tried both but when I tested it I got a 40 error on my phone.

Are you using v11 or v12?

It's version 11.

In addition to creating ring groups, have you created extension groups? This can be done from the extensions tab. I would recommend creating extension groups in a similar fashion to the ring groups' setup.
