It is my understanding that when provisioning a SIP phone using STUN, the authentication details to the PBX are the primary user's extension and voicemail pin code.

Has anyone had experience with what happens when the user changes their voicemail pin code? Does it automatically update on the phone registration settings or would it start failing authentication until it was manually updated? If it starts falling, this there any other way around this?

We do not use hotdesking. Each SIP phone is registered for 1 individual user at a time.

The voicemail PIN code has nothing to do with registration of the set, only allowing access to their voicemail.

Normally the user will not be able to change anything that would affect registration.

When I use the ID and password given to me by 3CX, it does register the phone but the registration of the individual extension fails. Is this where we would need to utilize the voicemail pin? I haven't done these in a while but I do remember the voicemail pin is used somewhere.

Disregard. I forgot to change the protocol to TCP.
