Hi,
I'd like to know where to set emergency number rules in SMB ?
Do this need to be set in outbound rules? if so, what is the difference between an ordinary rule and one for emergency number?

Hi there.
In your case, since it is an SMB, you will use regular outbound rules for that.

Hello Oleg,
what do you mean? there's no difference at all for emergency rules and regular ones?
if nothing in emergency rule is different, what give an extension the right to call an emergency number?

No, it is different if you have your own hosting, and you can distinguish what is an emergency call, route them differently, receive notifications etc, but for FREE/SMB you don't have those options that you can configure, so regular outbound rules will need to be used there, and its straight forward

So just to double check there is no way to send an emergency notification on Free/SMB? I mean, I guess that makes sense on a shared system, but it means it's not compliant with various laws about that, right?

HI Team
We are working on Emergency numbers and providing the ability to comply with emergency regulations.

The notification we currently have is via email

More work is going to be added to this part for sure.
Once we get 100% feature complete, we will start to push this code out.

At your disposal

Thanks for detailled answer, it could be nice too to be able to set a customised MOH on SMB PRO ;)

Actually reading carefully, I missed the fact that you are on free.

On Free we cannot allow users calling emergency numbers. It is a regulatory request. Since the user is not really kyc'ed we do not know the user. We cannot allow / or promote unknown users calling emergency services.

So we assume that if you are on free, your job is to Evaluate the pbx. Calling EMN is forbidden. If you want to see how this works, you can contact a partner and ask for a sales demo. Like this you get to understand the hidden options which are not exposed in Free.

Let us know if you need anything on this - future plans are going to include additional details in the enum call to be fully compliant

Hello,
may be this post was an answer for someone else, as i'm not on SMB Free but SMB20 .
Sorry what means :
not really kyc'ed
Calling EMN is forbidden

HI @aws2p
Which is your question exactly? it could be I got confused.

kyc = know your client. So we cannot allow users on free to dial emergency numbers because we did nothing to kyc them - example take money from them.

EMN - Emergency number. Let us know how I can help and we thank you for your continued contributions!

On classic PBX we have emergency rules set and you know all extensions are allowed all the time to dial these numbers.

On SMB you explain threre is no specific rules for these numbers so my question is , how to be sure a user will always have rights to call an emergency number anytime?

Hi @aws2p
SMB = hosted - which means that EMN dialing is disabled. (as we know it in the classic pbx)

But you can call EMN number from the provider.
So example - if my provider allows me to call the EMN number, create an outbound rule that says
Calls with prefix 122 -> via provider
Then all users will be allowed to use this EMN

So classic version non hosted - 3CX allows you to create emn
hosted version - 3CX does not allow you to create EMN numbers BUT you can create an outbound rule, and route it outbound via your VoIP Provider. Same thing.

I hope this helps - at your disposal for anything you need.
