Hello,

When someone says nothing on your voicemail, then it gets transcribed as 'Ondertitels ingediend door de Amara.org gemeenschap' or something similar.
This is a bug in OpenAI.
I've had the same happen when integrating OpenAI into my Home Assistant - when you say nothing (just testing the wakeword), OpenAI sends this back - resulting in an error message from Home Assistant ('I don't understand what you mean').
The internet is full of people experiencing the same thing and it's really OpenAI's fault.
But perhaps 3CX can check the length of a voicemail or recording and if it's shorter than 3 seconds or so, not send it to OpenAI until they have fixed this.

Although I haven’t tested it with the OpenAI integration, the 3CX configuration is already set to ignore voicemails shorter than 2 seconds by default. You can customize this setting. In my opinion, the message isn’t transferred to OpenAI if it doesn’t meet this criterion.

Could you give it a try? Increase this value to 30 seconds (it might be necessary to restart the services), and then try leaving yourself a message. Is the message transferred to OpenAI even if it doesn’t reach 30 seconds?
(Don’t forget to revert the value afterward.)

Thanks.

It was set to 2 seconds and the empty message was also exactly two seconds. I have increased it to three seconds for now.

OpenAI should really fix this though. If you send silence / background noise to them, you just get a random sentence from their database and for one reason or the other, it's always about ("illegal") subtitles. First time I saw that (on Home Assistant), I thought my system had been hacked :) The sentence I got back then was even a bit weirder then.
