This is interesting.... I've never had a customer ask for this kind of thing before.
Their main DID is connected to 3cx Via a SIP Trunk.... this works fine. There's a computer software that has a feature to find callers by their CID. It's a cloud based program. They've assigned a DID that only reads the DID, and does NOT answer.
They requested that when the Main DID receives a call, it "dual rings" to their assigned DID, just so it can pick up the CID.
The sip trunk provider does not support this feature.
Provided 3cx can "rebound" a caller, I would think that creating an extension to drive the inbound calls to...This extension would ring the external assigned number for 5 sec then rebound them to the queue where the staff answers would be a plausible solution. I've never tried to rebound a call in 3cx, so I wasn't 100% certain it was plausible.
