Hello everyone,

we have an alarm server and are looking for a way to interrupt an active call so that the alarm server's call is not missed. We tried simultaneous calls, but unfortunately the signal is so weak that it could easily be overheard. Is there a way to terminate a call when a specific number calls? I would hate to give that person a second phone just for that purpose.

Many greetings

In an extensions settings (was under Forwarding Rules/Exceptions), you should be able to forward a call based on it's caller ID. One of the options is to end the call. If calls normally route first, to something like a ring group or IVR, then create a dummy extension, with the rule, and have calls route there before proceeding. Send all calls to the "normal" destination, and specific caller IDs to somewhere else..

hi leejor,

Thank you for your answer. But I meant something different. I would like if the extension has an active call and a fire alarm is triggered, for example, that the active call is ended as soon as the alarm server tries to call this extension.

But I have no idea how and if this can be implemented.

Kind regards

There is no out-of-the-box way to do this that I am aware of. The only option would be to create a service that uses the call control API to forcefully drop the existing call. How about forward the call to their cell?
