I'm attempting to set up a SIP trunk for my business' phone system using Twilio. All of the internal routing is fine and I'm able to call out using the DID numbers but whenever I try to call into the system, I just get a voice message saying "We're sorry, an application error has occurred. Goodbye." and the the call drops. Does anyone know how to fix this? or at the very least start troubleshooting?

Are you doing anything special for routing of incoming calls? Do they just go to an extension or ring group? Unfortunately I don't think you'll have access to the 3CX Activity Log, which would normally show you exactly what is happening. You may have to rely on help from your provider, to at least confirm that they are sending the calls to the PBX.
If you do have some incoming routing that is more than "basic" I would change that to simply send calls to an extension and see if that works. You'll at least confirm that 3CX is receiving and can process the calls.

I've attempted to route the calls to an extension, queue, ring group & digital receptionist and get the same message every time. I've checked the calls logs from my provider and it's showing that all of the calls are going through successfully so I'm quite certain that the issue is with 3CX. It's not displaying any errors in the event log though.

Have you checked for any errors on the Twillio side? Are your rules for handling incoming calls using the numbers in the formating they are provided by them?

If you set just a default destination for the trunk and no specific DID destinations, do the calls come through?

I'm certain there are no errors occurring on the Twilio side. Where can I find the rules for incoming calls in the admin console? I only have a tab for Outbound Rules.

I get the same error message when the trunk is set to a default destination.

Is it confirmed that the recording heard, originates from 3CX?

Solved! It turns out the issue was in Twilio but it wasn't outputting anything in the error logs for some reason. The 3CX automatic trunk setup for Twilio hadn't actually routed the numbers into the SIP Trunk for some reason which I've now fixed. Calling in and out works fine. Thanks for the help

Glad it's resolved.
