We are experiencing excessive post dial delay on a high percentage of calls from 3CX (Free Version) into the PSTN (hosted SIP with "VoIP-unlimited").

On calls with excessive PDD (up to ~15s) I have noticed that the 3CX Activity Log includes several MS101005 logs (STUN request failed) and an MS101003 log (Possible firewall problem) before alerting is received from the PSTN. An example of this is attached (3cxLog_093514113526[1]_Long_PDD).

On calls with acceptable PDD (up to ~5s) the 3CX Activity Log does not contain any MS101005/03 logs. An example of this is also attached (3cxLog_094314114321[1]_Short_PDD).

Both calls were made from the same 3CX extension (Grandstream GXP-2000) to the same mobile number in the PSTN. We would be most grateful for any thoughts on how to resolve this. It looks like it might be related to our firewall/ADSL router configuration.

Thanks a Lot...

Hi John,

I know you're using a Draytek 2820, i'm using a 2950, and under NAT > Open Ports I have specified the ports as follows:

You can double check for sanity sake more than anything. I can make calls from our SIP Gateway which is SipGate, and there is no post dial delay, might be worth opening a quick test account with them, you can create an account in less than 5 mins http://www.sipgate.co.uk.

I've expanded your log out for others to see, and be easier to review and comment:
Code:
11:42:39.875 [CM503008]: Call(290): Call is terminated

11:42:37.421 [CM505003]: Provider:[VOIP Unlimited] Device info: Device Not Identified: User Agent not matched; Capabilities:[reinvite, replaces, able-no-sdp, recvonly] UserAgent: [] Transport: [sip:192.168.0.116:5060]

11:42:37.421 [CM503002]: Call(290): Alerting sip:[email protected]:5060

11:42:33.046 [CM503024]: Call(290): Calling VoIPline:07717754520@(Ln.10000@VOIP Unlimited)@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5060]

11:42:32.890 [CM503004]: Call(290): Route 1: VoIPline:07717754520@(Ln.10000@VOIP Unlimited)@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5060]

11:42:32.890 [CM503010]: Making route(s) to <sip:[email protected]>

11:42:32.875 [CM505001]: Ext.851: Device info: Device Identified: [Man: Grandstream;Mod: GXP Series;Rev: General] Capabilities:[reinvite, no-replaces, unable-no-sdp, recvonly] UserAgent: [Grandstream GXP2000 1.2.1.4] Transport: [sip:192.168.0.116:5060]

11:42:32.875 [CM503001]: Call(290): Incoming call from Ext.851 to <sip:[email protected]>

How about testing with the 3CX Softphone to see if you get the same result ? Or try re-adding the VOIP Gateway ?

Leejor asked a similar question and received some responses that might be useful. May be set specific just scanning the thread. Probably worth while renaming the thread to focus on the Post Dial Delay - the more focus threads tend to be, the higher the response rate i find.
