Exchange on-prem contacts to 3CX directories

Hello,
I'm looking for documentation to link the 3CX directory to an on-premise exchange server.
All the links I'm finding arrive on a 404 Not Found.
I'm beginning to wonder if it's even possible.

Even the link in 3CX takes me to a page that doesn't exist

Can you tell me if you still have documentation?

When is this functionality being removed for existing installations? I have a customer with a 96SC Enterprise out there and this is a feature that's required for them. They only have on-prem exchange and not 365 and I'd rather get ahead and warn them before finding it not working one day.

I understand that Microsoft is pushing 365, but a lot of customers are still using on-premise servers.
Why remove this function instead of giving them a choice?

has there been any announcement of the removal of this function?

We have the same problem for ourself . Office 365 an cloud usage is not possible for us because it is not conform with DSGVO and German data protection laws in our bussiness.

We already had/have this running/set up in the old way. (We manually have to update the Exchange Adressbook - and we did this the last weeks and wondered why 3cx didn't update.)
If features are discontinued it would be better instead of just deleting the webpage - to change the webpage to "feature is discontiuned since version XXX" would have saved me 2 hours of searching with google and als forum posts.

After Restart of the system service it obviously found the "old existing setup" with exchange and synced the contacts.

We are happy to read that this will come back.

Right know you need to enable basic authentication and create an impersonated user account and know how to do that. We will look into enabling oauth for v20

It's not a problem for the exchange configuration but as I came across the documentation a few days ago I didn't understand why the links are dead now.

So to recap on this - we are not removing this feature in v18. In v20 we will review but probably we will keep it.

However:
a. It will only work with Exchange Server on premise. Exchange server online will not work
b. You need to create an impersonated user account
c. You need to allow basic authentication for that account

b and c you need to be able to configure yourself on Exchange Server. We dont offer support or documentation - you will need to use the microsoft support site to obtain the info how to do it....
