Expired publisher certificate

Hi team, we've had a client reach out to us requesting a new copy of the desktop client MSIX as the publisher certificate has expired today on the copy available at https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3cxsoftphone/3CX.msix, linked on the partner portal download page. Is 3CX able to set up a new version of the installer with their new cert when possible?

Hi Thom, thanks for the update. I just downloaded from https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3cxsoftphone/3CX.msix (link in the partner portal) and it looks to still be the older version, I guess that's cached however. Will try later.

One question, another partner I work with will be raising a support case about this, is there any way to ask for newly signed installers for older versions? A specific customer requires a newly signed installer for 20.0.664.0 as they have not tested, or have the time to test anything newer.

@ThomB_3CX Any updates ? When will the new MSIX be available? We have customers with full impact. With the link https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3cxsoftphone/3CX.msix - you still get the old version with the expired certificate.

@gazeuxbaveux Thank you very much for your effor. I also tryed to export it from the Microsoft Store already. But it is not the same version we had - Users would need to register freshly...
Not a solution for us, as we have a lot of users. We need the same old App with a new certificate.

Hello ThomB_3CX, is there any official statement from 3CX regarding the issue?
Is there an investigation underway?
Is work being done on the problem, as well as on the related issues described in my post?

Hi everyone,

we are currently experiencing an issue with the **3CX Desktop App (MSIX)** that started today across all of our systems.

The MSIX package is signed with a **code signing certificate that has expired**:

* Publisher: 3CX Ltd
* Issuer: SSL.com Code Signing Intermediate CA RSA R1
* Validity: **30.03.2023 – 29.03.2026**



We are deploying the app via SCCM using the official download URL:
https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3cxsoftphone/3CX.msix

The package available at this URL is also affected and contains the expired certificate.

@ThomB_3CX can you please provide us all with an update on this issue. I can see that I am not alone in the need for this to be resolved asap, and pressure on our client base is now growing. It would be greatly appreciated if you could acknowledge that the problem is being actively worked on and provide an ETA. Many thanks.

Hi,

We have achieved a workaround while this issue persists, we have extracted version 20.0.1096.0 MSIx from the windows store, which contains a valid certificate.

We ran this command first in Powershell (Admin)

Add-AppxProvisionedPackage -PackagePath "C:\users\Username\documents\3cx.msix" -Online -SkipLicense

Then installed the MSIX, now have a working 3cx app.
