Hi,

What I want to do is:
When I call in to an extension I want that extension to forward to my cellphone immediately

Do I need another trunk that is different than what I used for inbound to act as an outbound for the extension to forward to my cellphone?

Thanks,

How many channels does the trunk support? Many are unlimited - but some are not.
If it offers more than 1 path - then it can come in and back out on same trunk. We operate like this as we have a lot of rod warriors... Receptionist transfers call to extension which goes to mobile.
Same idea.

I would look into using the Ring my Mobile at the same time option. This means that you can answer the call on either the extension or the mobile without it ringing for a given time on the extension set. And, yes, you need one trunk for the inbound, and one for the outbound leg.

And, yes, you need one trunk for the inbound, and one for the outbound leg.

So what 3cx calls a trunk - "provider" - I have 1 provider and it handles any number of simultaneous inbound and outbound calls at the same time. The plan I use has 100 channels. Calls come in and out and redirected all the time.

As above, no you need one trunk that supports multiple channels. Your provider will be able to tell you how many channels your trunk supports.
Then you can either forward to mobile using the extensions status or enable the option Ring my mobile simultaneously.

How does the extension forward to my cellphone? Is it through the outbound rule?

Thanks for the replies by the way

Yes, you need to have an outbound rule in place that will match the call you want to make.

correct

Sorry. I'm used to to referring to a channel (one voice-path), as a trunk, and a group of channels, to one provider, as a Trunk Group

I got it working, thanks for the replies!

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for the update
