Extension ID on caller phone

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to show the called extension ID on the caller's desk phone?

When I dial to an extension the display only shows the extension number and never retrieves the ID. I thought maybe this should be done by the phone itself, asking the server about the ID, but as I deploy the configs from a different server maybe I'm missing the entry in the config files.

I use mainly Fanvil phones.

Do the phones have the phonebook? If you receive a call from an extension, does it show the ID?

The phones don't have a phonebook loaded. I was trying to avoid doing that because of having to keep them updated. And yes, when I receive calls they get correctly identified.

IIRC, outbound dialed calls show info from the phonebook. You will need one to show a Name on outbound calls.

Why build your own system and not use the 3CX built in one? 3CX manages the phonebook for you as well (although nothing stops you from call the XML in your own system)

Thank you SweetAction, I will try to figure the best way to do this, from a point of view of keeping the phonebook updated.
