Although I can successfully change the subject line of the welcome email I don't appear to be able to change the HTML body or rather I can edit the body but it does not seem to apply. Is this as intended on Hosted 3CX?

@double6jg there are not any restrictions on the Hosted by 3CX for the html body of the emails on the Management Console and thats you can access it to MC >> Settings >> Email >> Email Templates.
I will move this to the general category of the forum so you can post some examples on what you did and how you want your html and get some more feedback :)

Hi its not an HTML editing issue. I code HTML by hand as part of my living.
I applied a very simple change to a piece of text in the HTML body saved it and a change to the subject line. The subject line has worked. The HTML edit (which I can still see) simply hasn't been applied to the emails generated.

The change was on the line 14 "This email contains important information about your 3CX account."
I changed the text to "This email contains important information about your Company Name 3CX account." that's all.
It just isn't applying.

@double6jg did you restart services of the PBX and then try again ?

Sorry for delay. Now tried sfter restarting all services and no change. The template is not being applied.

It may actually be that you are modifying the wrong line, try changing Line 43, re-send a welcome email and let me know if that works.

Yes that has sorted it. Many thanks.
It was a quick hack test and I never looked beyond Line 14 or noticed the style="display: none" attribute.
Now I'm wondering what the purpose of Line 14 actually is at all if it isn't ever displayed to the recipient?

You're very welcome!

That I'm not sure of to be honest but you can edit and try out the custom template you created anyway you like and revert back to using the default template at any time by going to "Settings >> Parameters" and delete the following parameter:
MAILTEMPLATE_EXTWELCOME_CUSTOM

This should have the PBX revert back to using the default template.

It’s all sorted now.
To anyone else who ever reads this Line 14 looks like it’s the start of the body of the email. It isn’t. It appears to be completely irrelevant to what the recipient receives.
Start your editing at Line 43 which is the real start of the message.
When you save, it does apply immediately.

(I wanted to test the template edit and was fooled by Line 14 being ostensibly the first line of the email)

Now it’s sorted courtesy of 3CX support I’d like to pass on my thanks and also the following for others.

Tip.
Copy the whole html of the template into a new Notepad++ window and save to your desktop or wherever as welcome.html
Open welcome.html in your browser.
Edit in Notepad++ and save as you go and review by refreshing your browser window.
When done copy the whole html from Notepad++ back to the 3CX template.

Some knowledge of html is required.

Notepad++ is a Windows app that frankly is a must have.
