Hi Everyone
I'm having intermittent issues with 2 extensions that are connected to a windows hosted (AWS) via a Raspberry Pi3. This is a new installation and not in production.

The same 2 of 14 extensions drop intermittently. They do show up under phones. But when I assign them to extensions, it does not get assigned.

The phones are Yealink T42G and have firmware 66.83.0.20. When they eventually get assigned they are registered for cira. 8 hours before dropping again. Its the same 2 phones that drop. Have reset both extensions (Factory reset)

Activity logs below:

Well the key question to identify is what are the differences between these two phones compared with the others.

* Firmware
* location/subnet/IP addresses.
* handset type

Also try running both the PCAP and log from one of the suspect endpoints, you should get more information this way.

Hello @fonebox

When the phones drop off do they appear under the phones tab of the management console as new devices? Does it help if you restart the phones or do you need to reprovision them for the phones to connect again?

Hi
All the phones are Yealink T42S with 66.83.0.20 firmware. When the phone drop off, they do appear under the phone tab. They are highlighted in Bold text, awaiting to be assign to an extension. The associated extensions are red. Currently all the phone are on the system, so it is intermittent. I'm more thinking is it a subnetwork issue?

Think the best approach is probably head back to site and capture a pcap.

Regards
Phil

As you are probably aware you can get logging for the Tunnel in 3CX (support info file).

This is all good but if you are wanting to do this from the Pi end you need to first turn on logging on the pi .The 3CX Session Border Controller Log is disabled by default on a Raspberry Pi installation.

This can be done in the 3cxsbc.conf which can be found if you navigate to: C:\ProgramData\3CXSBC\3cxsbc.conf

Change the DEBUG to VERBOSE then run the below commands:

1) Edit file /etc/3cxsbc.config and uncomment the # File section.
2) Stop the 3cxsbc service (service 3cxsbc stop)
3) Stop the rsyslog service (service rsyslog stop)
4) Delete file ls -l /var/log/ (rm /var/log/3cxsbc.log)
5) Recreate /var/log/3cxsbc.log (touch /var/log/3cxsbc.log)
6) Start the rsyslog service (service rsyslog start)
7) Start the 3cxsbc service (service 3cxsbc start

You can tail -f the logs so that it saves to a txt file - your SD card should be fine to support his.

This would be useful as well as getting the PCAP and logfile from the Yealinks themselves:

I would agree with eddv123 on this as you should be able to find the issue by enabling the SBC logging. Are the same 2 phones always dropping off?

Yes, it is the same 2 phones/Ext that drop off.

Let me try that!!

Have you tried switching devices to see if you replicate with a different device?
